Metal Detecting Code of Ethics

Metal detecting has a code of ethics that all detectorists should be aware of. This defines what acceptable behavior is and promotes high standards for the hobby. You should follow all laws and use common sense when detecting. An inconsiderate metal detectorist can give metal detecting a bad name, and this has caused metal detecting to be banned in some areas. So set a good example and be an ambassador for the hobby to make sure this doesn’t happen in your area!
